Aloe vera, which belongs to the lily family, originates from
West Africa. Aloe vera is a popular plant with fleshy leaves that look like
cactus. Its Bengali name is Aloe vera. Aloe vera leaves contain a sticky and
jaggery-like substance whose health and beauty benefits are immense. You may
have heard that aloe vera gel is used in the treatment of sunburn. But there
are many more uses of aloe vera that you may not know about. Let's find out

1. Makeup remover
Most eye makeup removers consist of a combination of harsh
chemicals and paraffin. Which dries the skin and causes health problems. People
with sensitive skin and those who use contact lenses should not use this type
of product. Apply pure aloe vera gel called cotton and remove eye makeup and it
will not cause any pain.
2. Shaving cream
Aloe vera gel can be used as a shaving cream. Aloe vera gel
is rich in anti-bacterial and moisturizing ingredients and is good for shaving.
For foaming, mix aloe vera gel with hand wash soap and a few drops of vitamin E
oil. This mixture will stay good for 6 months if kept in the fridge and it does
not contain any artificial or chemical ingredients which are present in most shaving
creams or gels.
3. Healing face mask
Aloe vera gel not only removes acne or acne scars but also
keeps the skin moisturized and youthful. Healing face masks are very easy to
make. Take out the gel of half of 1-2 aloe vera leaves. You can mix some essential
oil with it if you want to get a good scent or just use aloe vera gel. Leave it
on for 30 minutes and wash it off. Aloe vera gel has a mild scent and provides
a nice cool feeling.
4. Heals cuts and wounds well
Aloe vera gel contains polysaccharide fiber which helps in
digestion although for some people it can cause problems. This fiber helps to
close the wound and its cooling material helps to reduce the pain of the cut
part.
5. Face wash
Mix 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel with 1 tablespoon of
almond milk and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and apply on the face. Leave it for
a few minutes and wash your face. This face wash is ideal for sensitive skin.
Aloe vera gel is unique for retaining the youth of the skin. Mix 1 tablespoon
of aloe vera gel with 1 tablespoon of pure coconut oil. Apply the mixture on
your hands and face and keep on massaging until you feel hot. Then rinse.

6. Exfoliator
Aloe vera can be used as a very nice scrub for skin care.
Aloe vera softens the skin, provides oxygen to the cells and strengthens the
tissues. Mix enough brown sugar or baking soda with 1/2 cup aloe vera gel to
make a granular mixture. Then apply the mixture on your elbows, ankles, arms
and face and leave it for a while and then wash it off.
7. Eliminates cracks
In winter, the problem of cracking of the skin usually
occurs. Mix olive oil and honey with aloe vera gel and apply on cracked skin.
This will not only restore the skin's moisture but will also protect the skin
from infection.
8. Dry scalp
Aloe vera glycoprotein can cure dry skin and dry palate.
According to Ayurveda professor Dr.Rajini Patankar, the anti-bacterial
ingredient in aloe vera fights dryness. So apply aloe vera gel on the scalp and
leave it for 15 minutes and wash it off with a mild shampoo.
9. Cold and cough
Aloe vera gel can prevent the growth of bacteria responsible
for respiratory infections. Because it also has anti-viral ingredients. Mix
equal amount of honey and aloe vera gel and drink it. Aloe vera gel also
soothes sore throat and sinusitis.
10. Indigestion
Stomach complications and indigestion increase during the
winter. Drinking 1 glass of aloe vera juice every morning helps in digestion
and removes toxins from the body.
11. Arthritis
Drink aloe vera juice every day to reduce the pain of
arthritis in winter. Aloe vera contains anti-inflammatory ingredients that help
reduce stiffness and pain.
