The hill is located at a height of 2200 feet, about 50 km from the district headquarters of Bandarban. Alam, Saudia, Saint Martin Paribahan, Dolphin, Shyamli etc. buses leave from any end for the purpose of Bandarban. In this case the fare of non AC is 500-550 and the fare of AC bus is 900-1600 rupees. If you take a bus, it will take 8-10 hours to reach Bandarban.

 

There is no direct train from Dhaka to Bandarban. The first train from Dhaka to Chittagong is Subarna Express, Turna Nishita, Mahanagar Godhuli and Sonar Bangla. In this case the rent will be 300-1200 rupees depending on the class.

 

After getting off at Chittagong, you can go to Bandarban by Purbani and Pubali buses at a place called Baddarhat. In this case the rent will be 200-220. You can also go directly to Bandarban by bus from Dampara bus stand in Chittagong for a fare of Tk 200-300.

How to get to Nilgiris from Bandarban

There are many means to go from Bandarban to Nilgiris. You can go to Nilgiris by jeep, Mahendra, CNG, local bus or moon car. When traveling with family or friends, it is best to take a reserve car. You can also visit other places on the way to Nilgiris. If you want to go back day by day, you can take a jeep. You can rent these jeeps from Bandarban Jeep Station for 3000-7000 rupees depending on the different vehicles. You can also go by moon car, CNG, small jeep etc. If there is no problem in this case, you will reach in two to three hours. However, if you want to get lost in the cloud fair in Nilgiris, leave early in the morning so that you can reach in 5-6 hours.

 

If you want to go at low cost, you can also go by local bus, but it will take a lot of time. The bus from Thanchi bus stand to Thanchi leaves shortly after. In this case the rent is 100-120 rupees. If you go with family or friends, it is better not to take the local bus.

On the way to Nilgiris, the names and addresses of the tourists have to be recorded at the army check post. It is kept for the safety of tourists. Normally no more vehicles are allowed to enter the Nilgiris after 5 pm. So keep an eye on the time.

The rent of different rooms in this cottage will be 5000-10000 rupees. Remember the rent also depends on the time. Rents are higher on holidays. In order to avoid trouble at this time, you have to book in advance. But if you go in off season, you can get up to 30-50% discount.
