Make yourself confident at work
The term confidence is commonly used to refer to one's own
well-thought-out confidence about one's own opinions, abilities and strengths
in one's life. Confidence in a person's life increases as a result of his
experience, success-failure at work and participation in various activities. It
is a positive belief that helps a person choose the right career and not the
will of life. It is not just a matter of choosing a career, it is a matter ofself-confidence.
In today's article, I will try to highlight some of the ways
to overcome various problems in the workplace and increase self-confidence. We
will first discuss what kind of difficulties you face in the workplace. Not all
of these problems or office tensions will happen in your workplace.
(1) Being a victim of violence in the workplace
Being a victim of violence in the workplace means being
physically and emotionally humiliated, facing verbal threats, being sexually
harassed, and so on. This can be a problem for all types of work. This can
cause the victim to become emotionally disturbed temporarily or even for a long
time. His work, normal life, family is extremely difficult in this. Remember,
this is a serious problem.
(2) Victims of discrimination
This is often the case at work. It is unethical to treat or
use one or more people based on age, appearance, gender, place, religion,
politics, family background, position, personal relationship, etc. An employee
needs to be evaluated only by his qualifications and work. This can lead to
things like leaving the job, getting annoyed at work, looking different from
other employees.
(3) Being a victim of domination and bullying
Bullying in the workplace means; Laughter of others is the
food of jokes, insults, rumors, threats to leave the job, overwork.
(4) Insecurity in the workplace
There can be a variety of insecurity problems in the
workplace. For example, physical insecurity, lack of necessary travel
facilities, unnecessary delays, risky workplaces, lack of proper health care,
etc. increase apathy and inattention to work.
(5) Politics in the workplace
It is said that there is not as much politics in the whole
country as there is in the office! This politics is organized as a personal
network and power. In this case, personal gain is more important than profit in
the workplace.
That's all there is to it. Now I will tell you some ways to
get yourself out of these problems.
(1) Every problem has some solution
There are very few problems in the world that have no
solution. Many times your attitude towards the problem will change the nature
of the whole problem and come up with a permanent solution. It is possible to
manage everything with patience while keeping a cool head.
(2) Taking a break from overwork
Remember, work and money are not everything. Excessive work
responsibilities often interfere with one's personal work. You should work as
much as you can to make time for yourself and your family. If necessary, the
matter can be fixed by talking to the boss. Remember, it is better to finish a
small task nicely than to do a lot of random work.
(3) Be calm and patient
Remember that nothing on earth is permanent, not even our
problems. So don't be restless and wait for the time. A lot of times the boss
can be transferred and go somewhere else, you can have a promotion, a better
opportunity may come, your mental capacity and endurance may increase.
(4) Try to explain
Try to tell your boss or someone above you about your
problem. Or talk openly with the person with whom the problem occurred. Don't
talk in reverse, it will increase the problems and stress.
(5) Prey on your own mistakes and try to be humble
If you make a mistake, hunt it down as soon as possible and
be prepared to compensate. Never try to show arrogance or pride in your
education, experience and resources at work. Remember, self-esteem and pride
are two things. If you confuse the two, the loss is yours.
(6) Be your own critic without expecting anyone's praise
There are very few arrogant people who have not uttered the
phrase ‘no one appreciates my work’. Whether one appreciates it or not, youwill do your work with your own inspiration. The same is true of criticism, it
is wise to focus on one's own work without listening to it.
Now I will go to the main place of my writing. It is
difficult to survive in the competition without confidence in the workplace.
Now we will know how to increase confidence in the workplace.
(1) Reshaping the situation
Always have a positive attitude for any kind of situation.
It is normal to be nervous in any presentation, meeting, keeping in touch with
different people, convincing them, but keep in mind that the one who can
overcome his nervousness and turn the work into a beautiful and constructive
one is successful. So all the hesitation, fear and discomfort has to be removed
and the work has to be faced and finished.
(2) Preparation
Make some preparations for it before doing anything. Try to
learn from the work over and over again or to learn something about the work.
For example, the most important things to keep in mind before giving a
presentation are:
Write down what you want to say and practice again and
again.
Make sure your personality is properly expressed in the
presentation.
Have a very good idea about the whole topic and memorize it
nicely.
You can practice in front of your friends or colleagues so
that you do not face any problem on the day of presentation.
(3) Keep fear away
Don't make any excuses for fear of seeing a new kind of
work, take it as a challenge. Practice again and again, take ideas. You must
succeed. There’s a saying that, ‘Practice makes a man perfect’. Always try to
remember the word.
(4) Body language
Body language is a big issue in the workplace. This will
determine how you view others. When you are standing and talking to someone,
stand up straight and keep your neck and spine straight while sitting in a
chair. Standing or sitting in the right way will increase your confidence severaltimes. When talking to someone, look them in the eye and talk to them, while
looking at them shows disrespect, fear and discomfort.
(5) Taking inspiration
Notice how successful people communicate in their workplace,
communicate with people, follow rules, and so on. Take inspiration and move on,
not imitate.
(6) Choosing the right clothes and style
Your dress will boost your self-confidence. Wear clean and
elegant clothes in the office. Both boys and girls should refrain from wearing
extra colorful and shiny clothes. Don’t choose a style that makes you a
laughing stock in the office or one that doesn’t suit you. Wear shiny and
wordless shoes that match your outfit.
(7) Write down some of your past successes on a piece of
paper
Never be discouraged, write about the things you are
interested in, the things you like and the things you have achieved. Read it
occasionally, and if possible, write it down on a piece of paper in the office
room or cabinet and hang it. If you are in front of these eyes every day, yourself-confidence will increase.
(8) Express gratitude
Learn to express gratitude to people even in the smallest
things. Show good manners and sincerity to everyone from office staff to
superiors and subordinates.
(9) Try to accept criticism
Try to correct your criticism. If that's not possible, avoid
it with a smile.
(10) Give yourself time
Adequate rest is the key to working on new ventures later.
Make time for yourself and your hobbies, family. Their love and inspiration
will keep you overwhelmed and tireless at work.
You can't find a person who hasn't faced problems in life.
We have to go through problems, failures, risks, boredom, fatigue. Those who
have been successful in life were not out of it. Yet they overcame all
obstacles, overcame all difficulties, and achieved success through hard work
and self-confidence. It is difficult but never impossible to work with
confidence in the face of various difficulties in the workplace. It is possible
to be successful in the career by using the above strategies and willpower.
